Who We Are

PURPOSE:
Inspired by the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa and Nelson Mandela, Mindful Leadership is an organisation whose purpose is to facilitate leaders in organisations, families, and friendships to:

  • Still the egoic monkey mind of our 20,000-year wired, sabre-tooth-tiger-fighting brains in order that we may

    • Understand the authentic power of our minds and hearts

    • Hear in the silence the exceptional wisdom that lies within us all and

    • Learn how to express conscious compassion constantly moment by moment

The VALUES of our organisation lie in "C"-ing truly:

  • Compassion: summarised most beautifully as "Namaste," the Sanscrit word meaning the "God in Me honours the God in You."

  • Camaraderie:  summarised by the Latin root of respect, which is respecere, literally meaning "to look again" -- we focus on constantly looking again at people to see their greatness, and to replace our outdated static visions of them that do not serve either of us

  • Collaboration: the art of working with people across the globe for compassion and creation, summarised by the Zulu greeting "Sawu Bona," meaning "I see you and all of your potential" and the greeting back from the person who receives this: "Sikhona," meaning "Thank you, because you have seen me, I now exist and can create in this world."

  • Conversation: the power of dialogue, creating meaning through word and the need for non-violence in our words in order to create non-violence in our physicality

  • Calm: The Mindfulness aspect of ourselves: the calm that allows us to create the Observing Laughing Buddha within our mind, who can recognise the illusory thoughts of the monkey mind (i.e. the ego), and thus recognise the authentic thoughts of the Wise Mind within

  • Creation: Celebrating the infinite power of our minds to learn and to then innovate instead of to simply regurgitate information--to become Creator Workers and not Knowledge Workers.

  • Consecration: the art of gratitude for all gifts given to us, especially the people who turn up in our lives in all forms -- kindness, anger, jealousy, generosity, brilliance, idiocy

THE SYMBOL of our organisation:

The symbol of our organisation is the lighthouse.  The lighthouse stands tall and still upon the land sending out a constant light that is emitted all around it for anyone to see that needs to find guidance within themselves.  Not all ships require it.  The ships that do know where to find it and revel in its constancy and wisdom.

In contrast, our symbol is NOT the searchlight, which runs up and down the beach shining its light at every ship that pasts, trying to get their attention.  Not all ships need our guidance, and even if they did, the search light running up and down would surely result in these ships running aground.
